About Us

One Health Malawi is an initiative centered around the concept of 'One Health', a collaborative, multisectoral, and transdisciplinary approach to achieve optimal health outcomes

The 'One Health' approach is commonly used in many countries, including Malawi, to address potential or existing risks that originate at the intersection of humans, animals and ecosystems.

For instance, in Malawi, various programs might work under the 'One Health' umbrella to tackle issues related to zoonotic diseases (transmitted between animals and humans), food safety, antimicrobial resistance and environmental changes. This involves partnerships between public health officials, veterinarians, ecologists, and other professionals.
